Electrochemiluminescence microscopy: From single objects to living cells

نویسندگان

چکیده

Electrochemiluminescence (ECL) is a light-emitting phenomenon triggered by electrochemistry. The resulting optical signal enables spatiotemporal resolution of the luminescent that can be imaged with high accuracy. field ECL evolving rapidly from an analytical method widely applied in biosensing to novel microscopy technique. efficient generation depends on electrode materials, luminophore/coreactant systems, and experimental configurations, focusing research improving these parameters. Nowadays, analysis transient events micro/nanometric objects, surface boundaries, interfaces, physical phenomena, as well catalytic biological processes. Since offers many applications, this article will describe first context then most recent advances imaging single objects living cells or subcellular structures.

Compressive Force Spectroscopy: From Living Cells to Single Proteins.

One of the most successful applications of atomic force microscopy (AFM) in biology involves monitoring the effect of force on single biological molecules, often referred to as force spectroscopy. Such studies generally entail the application of pulling forces of different magnitudes and velocities upon individual molecules to resolve individualistic unfolding/separation pathways and the quanti...

Multidimensional microscopy on living cells

Introduction An ongoing trend in scientific research is the development of techniques that can address multiple components of a system at a single time. DNA microarray analysis provides a snap shot of the set of genes expressed within a cell at a given time [1]. Multidimensional protein identification technology is being developed to determine the contents of heterogenous samples of proteins [2...

From Living to Virtual: Learning from Museum Objects

Interactive museum exhibits have increasingly placed replicated and virtual objects alongside exhibited authentic objects. Yet little is known about how these three categories of objects impact learning. This study of family learning in a botanical garden specifically focuses on how 12 parent-child family units used explanations as they engaged with three plant types: living, modeled, and virtu...

Machine Vision Application to Automatic Detection of Living Cells/Objects

The concept of Machine Vision (MV) originates in the early 1950’s and practical MV applications appeared in the early 1980’s. Early theoretical work suggested serious limitations in computational abilities as the main reason for inefficient use of MV. MV is a ‘simple’ processing system which receives and combines signals from cameras by manipulating images at the pixel level to extract informat...

Quantitative reflection contrast microscopy of living cells

Mammalian cells in culture (BHK-21, PtK2, Friend, human flia, and glioma cells) have been observed by reflection contrast microscopy. Images of cells photographed at two different wavelengths (546 and 436 nm) or at two different angles of incidence allowed discrimination between reflected light and light that was both reflected and modulated by interference. Interference is involved when a chan...
